Rules & Regulations for Caregivers
The number of patients you may serve as a primary caregiver will depend upon your state’s legal requirements. In the state of Michigan, at the time of writing, you may grow for up to 5 people (6 including yourself, if you are a patient), but there is no legislation limiting the number of people for who you can obtain cannabis products as a caregiver. Caregivers must also conform to regulations regarding the amount of cannabis possession allowed to each patient.
It is your responsibility to know your rights and adhere to state or local laws, we do not provide legal advice. We recommend exploring your state’s resources for an overview of legislation regarding medical marijuana. The National Conference of State Regulations has some brief information for each US state here. Michigan residents may register as a patient or caregiver with LARA by filling out an application or learning more here.
